How does FASTag work?

FASTags are easily available from multiple issuing banks and various online and offline touchpoints.

Leading public and private banks that issue FASTags include SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. You can apply for a new FASTag on these banks' websites or mobile apps. Some also allow you to order it online and get it delivered to your address.

Banks have set up FASTag issuance counters at select branches in major cities and national highway toll plazas. You can visit these counters with your vehicle and KYC documents to get an instant FASTag.

You can also buy a FASTag from official Point of Sale (POS) machines installed at petrol pumps belonging to BPCL, HPCL and IOCL. Many Regional Transport Offices are also issuing FASTags.

While buying, compare charges like issuance fee, security deposit, reloads, and wallet management fees across banks. Always opt for the official FASTag channels for the security of your money.
