What is the EPF contribution rate for employees?

The EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) contribution rate for employees is 12% of their monthly basic salary and dearness allowance. This means that employees contribute 12% of their salary every month to their EPF account.

For example, if the monthly basic salary is ₹30,000, the employee contributes ₹3,600 (which is 12% of basic pay) every month towards EPF. This amount is deducted from the employee's salary and remitted to their EPF account.

The employer also contributes towards the employee's EPF and EPS accounts. The employer's contribution is split into two parts:

1. 8.33% of monthly basic salary + DA towards EPS (Employee Pension Scheme)

2. 3.67% of monthly basic salary + DA towards EPF
