How do I set up automatic payments for my credit card bill?

Credit card issuers and banks may have varied procedures for registering auto-debit payments. However, here are the two most common ways to set up automated credit card bill payment:

  1. Through Your Bank: Fill out a NACH (National Automated Clearing House) form and submit it to your bank along with a cancelled cheque. You can choose to automate payment for a minimum amount, fixed amount, or total bill amount each month.
  2. Through Netbanking: Log in to your bank account online and select your credit card. Look for auto-pay/scheduled payment options. Choose a payment frequency, amount, and debit date. Ensure your linked account has sufficient balance.

The auto-debit registration can take a few days to activate, so continue making manual payments. Once set up, your credit card bill will automatically be paid on the prescribed date every month without further action. You can modify auto-pay instructions later if required. Activating auto-pay prevents late fees.
