How can I set up automatic water bill payments online?

The most convenient method to set up automated payments for your periodic water bills is through UPI Autopay. This facility, introduced by NPCI, enables recurring e-mandates using any UPI app.

To get started, first, ensure your water supplier supports UPI payments. Then, when logged into their website or app to pay bills, choose 'UPI Autopay' as your preferred payment method.

You will then receive a pending mandate request in your BHIM, Shriram One or other UPI app that you have linked. Open the payments app, and under the Autopay tab, approve the e-mandate and verify it with your UPI PIN.

This authorises the water provider to raise automatic payment requests before every bill due date, which gets credited from your linked bank account without further approval.

You can view pending requests or modify the UPI Autopay mandate at any time within your BHIM or payments app. This saves the hassle of manual bill payments each cycle
