Can I redeem rewards for cash or only for specific items?

Most loyalty programs allow members to redeem accumulated reward points for specific merchandise, experiences, gift cards, or credits that can be used for future purchases. Direct cash redemptions are generally not provided. You will have to check with your vendor about this.  

Brands mostly allow members to use their hard-earned points towards the reward option that best meets their needs and preferences. Various brand-name products, travel packages, dining certificates, movie tickets, and other reward choices are available exclusively for program members who have earned enough points.

Another redemption option is to convert points into gift cards or store credits that can be used at many popular retailers. The redemption selections are evaluated continuously, and new offers are added regularly.
