Can I pay my water bill using a debit card?

Most water service providers now allow customers to pay their water bills online using debit cards. This offers a convenient, digital method of paying bills without having to visit the provider's office.

To pay your water bill with a debit card, first register on your provider's website or bill payment app with your consumer number and account details. Once your bill appears, select the option to pay with a debit card.

To proceed, you will need to enter details like your 16-digit debit card number, card expiry date, and CVV code. The bill amount will be verified and, upon confirmation, immediately debited from your linked bank account.

The process is very similar to making any other online purchase with a debit card. However, depending on your bank's security policies, an additional OTP or authentication may be required for the transaction.

You will receive a confirmation message with a transaction reference number once the bill payment goes through successfully via the secure payment gateway. This can be saved as proof of debit card payment.
