To pay your electricity bill online, first register on your provider's website or app. You will need to provide some basic details like your name, customer ID, contact information, etc., to create an account.

Once registered, you can log into your account anytime and make online bill payments. You can use credit cards, debit cards, net banking, UPI or mobile wallets like Paytm, Freecharge, etc., to make instant online payments.

Many electricity providers also have auto-debit options where your monthly electricity bill is automatically paid from your linked bank account on the due date. You just need to submit an auto-debit authorisation form.

The NPCI Bharat Bill Pay system also enables online electricity bill payments via netbanking and UPI on the apps of various participating banks/aggregators.

Paying online saves time compared to standing in long queues at physical collection centres. You also get bill payment receipts online, which you can save or print. Online payments reflect faster, avoiding late payment fines.
