Can I get a LAP with a low credit score?

Yes, in some cases, getting a loan against property (LAP) is possible even if you have a low CIBIL score. This is because LAP is a secured loan where your property is placed as collateral. So, financial institutions may approve your LAP application even with a suboptimal credit score of less than 750.

However, your chances of LAP approval at lower interest rates are higher with a score above 750. Many loan providers specify a minimum CIBIL score requirement that is usually between 650 and 700 for their LAP products. So, your loan eligibility and terms will depend on factors beyond your credit score, including your income stability, property details, tenure, etc. Those with scores below 650 may get rejected or have to place a higher-value property for the desired LAP amount.
